George & Georgette Shoes

My husband and I have been thinking about something special that we could get our toddler (almost preschooler, cannot believe she’s turned 3 soon) something special for when she starts her first day of preschool. We were thinking a new shirt but food stains usually get the better of us at meal times, then we were thinking maybe a new hair accessory but she tends to lose track of them if we’re not keeping a close eye on her. We decided on shoes. My daughter loves shoes (just like her Mama). She has always loved shoes, and always wants to try wearing my shoes. I’ll be in my closet trying to find a shirt to wear and the next thing I know, my daughter is wobbling around trying to wear one of my heels on one foot and a boot on the other.

So when I came across (George.georgette) on Instagram, I was pretty excited as I knew she would be thrilled by how brightly colored their shoes are. Not only that, the unique aspect about George&Georgette shoes are that every pair of shoes has a different design for the left than it does for the right. Per their website at (GeorgeGeorgette): “Our shoes don’t exactly match but complement one another, they are twins!”. Their uniqueness caught my eye and I reached out to them. They graciously sent us a pair for my toddler to try out and she fell head over heels in love!!

We got a pair called “Nature” and my daughter loved them as soon as she saw them. They have beautifully bright and cheerful colors of pink, yellow, green, blue and white. One shoe is a map of Europe with a cloud on the Velcro strap and the shoe has flowers growing in long grass with a little green leaf on the Velcro strap. My daughter was quite enamored with them and picked each one up and compared and examine them both carefully. Once she had looked her fill she asked to wear them and flung her sandals off before we could explain they were special preschool shoes. Oops! My bad, totally was too excited about these shoes and forgot what they were meant for!

We let her wear them for the day (which she proudly showed off to her aunt, uncle and baby cousin when we went to visit them) and she was quite sad when she finally had to take them off to take a bath at the end of the day. Which surprised us because she really likes bath time! Needless to say, we are all huge fans of these adorable unique shoes, and my toddler is SO looking forward to wearing them for her first day of preschool. So if you are looking for an adorable pair of unique and fun special shoes, look no further! They are made from poly synthetic leather; per their website: “Man made material that looks and feels like Genuine Leather but in fact is not. PU doesn’t come from animals, it looks fantastic and is cheaper than leather. For growing kids that don’t wear shoes very long, this is one good option! It’s very flexible and easily cleaned.” Also, shipping and returns are free! So go check them out! You can buy them via their website (GeorgeGeorgette) or on Amazon by clicking here.

About Me
Nicole Benedum has been a stay at home mom for the past 3 years. Before she took on this glorious (and sometimes not so glorious) role of "All Things Motherhood", she was a Human Resources Generalist. Her days were spent dealing with legal compliance, benefits, leave of absences and everything Human Resources related. Now her days are spent breastfeeding, changing diapers, conquering potty training, tantrums and sleepless nights. She has two kiddos; a 2 year old toddler named Emily, and a baby boy named Owen. She met her husband, Sam, in college when they were both on the swim team, and they have been together ever since. She is a huge breastfeeding advocate, gentle/crunchy parent (for the most part) and a former student athlete (water polo and swimming, woot woot!) both in high school and in college. At some point in the future she has dreams of going back to the gym and/or pool. For now she shall continue counting breastfeeding and holding a 35 pound toddler and 15 pound baby as her workouts.
